- AmeriCorps Members
Why is training necessary?
AmeriCorps is a challenging federal program, but one that offers the potential for organizations to make big dreams a reality. Programs meet new challenges everyday and need the skills to handle those challenges. Training is provided to programs on topics of program management, financial requirements, member management and performance evaluations.
Members are brought together at cross-stream training to learn from their peers what is happening across the state. We also provide training to members on citizenship and skills they need to grow personally and professionally.
Opportunities for Service
Join Volunteer West Virginia in a year-long adventure in service. Seasons of Service, sponsored and promoted by the Points of Light Foundation, is a portfolio of national service opportunities for people to volunteer throughout the year. More than 20 million people volunteer each year as part of at least one of these National Service Days. Click here to view the Points of Light 2011-2012 Seasons of Service Calendar.
