Harrison County LEPC Citizen Corps Council
Harrison County LEPC Citizen Corps will focus on starting TEEN CERT programs at a local high school and in a church youth group. In addition they will conduct hands on fire suppression training for local CERT members utilizing state of the art equipment. Finally, volunteers and first responders will work together on trainings and drills. Responders will become more comfortable with volunteer skills and capabilities. As a result, the program will increase the integration of volunteers into county emergency response activities. |

Jefferson County Citizen Corps
Jefferson County Citizen Corps will continue to build on plans to manage spontaneous volunteers during a disaster by conducting additional volunteer training and an exercise. In addition, they will partner with Girl and Boy Scout troops to conduct a Preparedness Challenge. Finally, the program will build relationships with the private sector by developing a Business Volunteer program and offering members training in business continuity planning.

Tyler County Citizen Corps
Tyler County Citizen Corps will develop a regional training trailer to be used during teen and adult CERT trainings, Red Cross trainings, Search and Rescue classes and exercises, and other events. The trailer will be shared across the region. In addition, the trailer will be equipped with Project Lifesaver electronics that can track lost/missing people suffering from Alzheimer’s, autism, and other cognitive disorders.

Wood County Citizen Corps
Wood County Citizen Corps will expand its volunteer base by developing a volunteer recruitment tool and training program directed towards affiliated volunteers and partner organizations. The goal is to work with partnering organizations and their volunteers by developing on-going communications to identify each agency’s needs, strengths, and opportunities and to share basic response information, material and human resources.

American Red Cross Mid-Ohio Valley (MOV)
American Red Cross MOV coordinated a volunteer-led exercise for mass care feeding at the Mission of Mercy Dental Clinic in Parkersburg, WV on July 31 & August 1, 2009. They were responsible for feeding 700 volunteers and 1500 patients over these two days. The exercise served as a drill for mass care feeding in the event of an evacuation. |

Doddridge County Citizen Corps
Doddridge County Citizen Corps will train 20 teenagers at the local High School through the TEEN CERT program. They will provide CERT training manuals and materials for the class. For those who complete the program, CERT bags and T-shirts will be given. |
